Back in the day I investigated BBC celebs over fears there were weirdos and willing to manipulate youngsters – including teenagers – for their own grubby gratification.
I chased Jimmy Savile for The Sunday Express, The Sun and the Daily Star. Sadly, I kept crashing in to stinking walls. But it stood me in good stead, and eventually, a couple of years ago, I was involved in the making of a Netflix documentary on the twisted man of pop dross.
It was the same a few years after hunting Savile when I met Stuart Hall at the opening of his ancient clock museum near Bolton. He asked uncomfortable questions about ‘young girls’. We, at the Evening News, approached the BBC but were scoffed at.
Same with Ray Teret.
And now this… another pervert employed by the grand British institution that is so proud of a shocking statue involving a young boy created by a child and animal molester, above its front door.
The BBC has admitted that it did not speak to Edwards until almost two months after they first received a complaint.
No, all the strange people at the BBC just hoped it would go away.
Well, it didn’t.
But do you know what? The BBC has thousands of news staff members and also thousands of freelance journalists … it is their job to know, like I and my colleagues do, what is going on around them.
It is their job to expose things others do not want making public.
Tell me though, why didn’t thousands of BBC journalists jump on these stories and do what they are paid to do..?
Were they incompetent, didn’t care… or were they under massive pressure from above?
