Howdyado! Thank you for listening to my shows everybody … the idea behind them is simply ‘let’s dance (and laugh) … until the end of time’!
But not this one.
I was part of the ‘faceless’ world of radio for nearly two decades, getting a really big listenership across the UK, Europe and America … I did three shows a week, one news chat show and two music shows, The Trip (a bit lysergic and off the wall) and The Dinner Party (well, a bit magic mushrooms and off the wall!).
We did well, ‘doing’ the BBC etc – oh, and TalkRadioX where we did midnight in New York!
Anyway, after that I got involved with news on cable TV and worked with Netflix and radio took a back seat …
Obviously recently, I’ve been delving into the archives I discovered last year in the falling-down shed at the bottom of the mystic garden at the haunted house in the Village of the Damned!
But this show for today broke the mould.
It ain’t funny at all. It is about tragedy, sadness, heartbreak, insults, lies, viciousness, destruction.
And the loss of your child.
The show was made in Praia da Luz Portugal, Maddie Town. Maddie McCann’s parents were still trying to find their missing child.
Then, while we were there, another child vanished forever, lost in a summer forest fire.
And it all made me think.
There are many men and women, like me, who have lost a child because of the ‘hidden’ family crime … Parental Alienation.
And to a man and woman we are often classed as b*st*rds, losers, con artists, cold fish, liars, cheats, selfish, uncaring and - yes - Deadbeat Parents.
Most of us are none of the above, we’re just parents who ended up getting divorced – or separating – for whatever reason and became the targets of family vendettas.
Most of us have lost our homes, our dignity and our reputations too. And for what?
Revenge that’s what…
Nothing else.
AND DON’T FORGET, IN ALL THIS, YOU’RE CHILDREN ARE THE REAL VICTIMS.
So, while we were in Praia da Luz I made this show, Trip for all the Lost Boys and Girls
It’s not funny, it’s not lysergic. It is sad but hopefully it has some hope and direction too.
